A personalized fountain pen needs to be cleaned twice a year. To do so, simply remove the ink cartridge or converter and flush the nib and section block with cool water. Dry the nib and section block with a cleaning cloth. DO NOT use hot water or solvents as this will damage the finish and/or mechanism.
To clean the pen after dipping in ink, withdraw it entirely from the ink - to prevent blots and flooding the first time you write after filling, swaddle the nib and feed in a tissue or paper towel. Holding the pen with the nib downward, grasp gently but firmly enough to ensure good contact between the pen and the paper, and let excess ink soak from the feed into the paper (about three seconds). Then finish wiping off the section if there’s still ink on it.
